Please contact our advising team with questions or advice related to

• mathematics placement or proficiency exams
• required coursework for mathematics majors
• degree paths offered by the Department of Mathematics
• course offerings in upcoming semesters
• registering for classes, including adding or dropping courses during the semester 

How to reach the math advising team

Advising services for mathematics students are available via the Department of Mathematics Undergraduate Office. In-person and virtual advising appointments can be made in advance by emailing mathadvising@illinois.edu.  

Walk-in appointments can usually be accommodated during regular business hours—but may not always be available, depending on current demand and the availability of advising staff. During peak times (e.g., during course registration in March/April and October/November), it's a good idea to contact our office in advance to schedule advising appointments.

The office will also be closed during campus-observed holidays.
