The Department of Mathematics in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences offers majors in Mathematics, Teaching of Mathematics, and Actuarial Science. A major in Mathematics and Computer Science is offered in conjunction with the Department of Computer Science.

Incoming freshmen and transfer students should apply directly to the university.

University of Illinois students interested in transferring into Mathematics must have completed the calculus sequence and at least one advanced mathematics course (typically Math 347) with a 2.5 average by the end of the sophomore year. (Please note that the Secondary Education Concentration in Mathematics has additional requirements.)
