Math 546. Hilbert Spaces Instructor Syllabus

This is an introductory course to Hilbert space operators and operator algebras.

The course covers:

• Geometrical properties of Hilbert spaces.
• Compact and bounded linear operators on Hilbert spaces.
• Basic theory of Banach algebras and C*-algebras.
• Spectral theory of bounded normal operators.
• Unbounded operators on Hilbert spaces.
