This project is a continuation of an ongoing project. The near future promises a rise in sensor-equipped vehicles. What can we do with all of this information? We would like to build on some existing computer-vision algorithms (viz., "You Only Look Once (YOLO)" by Redmon et. al. 2016); a convolutional neural network) to understand some context and risk associated with the urban environment surrounding roadways. Solid coding ability is required. Professor Dan Work of Civil and Environmental Engineering is a co-faculty mentor for this project. By the end of this project, you should have credible expertise in training and working with CNN's. Time permitting, we will also implement this on hardware.
